SPORTS BRIEF: Boys and Girls Club crowns basketball champions

The Federal Way Boys and Girls Club first-/second-grade Fall Munchkin League crowned a champion recently.
The Heat, coached by Mike Bible, knocked off the Suns, led by coach Randy Graap. The Heat ended the season a perfect 9-0 while the Suns posted a 6-3 record to capture second place. The champions of the third-/fourth-grade league were the Knicks, coached by Lovell Davis.
Registration for the upcoming Winter League is open until Jan. 25. Games will be played Feb. 11 to March 15. Teams are formed by local school and area. The divisions are divided into coed and consist of first/second grade, third/fourth, and fifth/sixth. Games are played at the Boys and Girls Club and local middle schools.
The program costs $60 for all leagues, plus a $36 Club membership fee. Registration can be done online at www.fwbgc.org or call Dolan Holt at (253) 681-6514.
