GIRLS BASKETBALL: Beamer remains unbeaten in SPSL South with 54-36 win over Rogers

The Todd Beamer Titans remained unbeaten in the South Puget Sound League South Division with a 54-36 win over Rogers Tuesday night in Puyallup. The Titans only two losses of the season came to the top-ranked team from Oregon, Oregon City, and the top-ranked team from Washington, Wilson.
Beamer (10-2 overall, 8-0 SPSL South) jumped out to a 15-10 lead after the first quarter and led 29-18 at halftime.
Freshman Bria Rice led the way for the Titans with 15 points, junior Megan Huff finished with 13 and freshman Nia Alexander chipped in 10 points.
Beamer will take on the Federal Way Eagles Friday night in a key SPSL South battle. The game will be played at Federal Way High School.
Federal Way — The Eagles (11-2 overall, 7-2 SPSL South) remained in the hunt in the SPSL South with a 61-45 win over Emerald Ridge Tuesday in Federal Way. The Jaguars took a 13-11 lead after the first quarter, but the Eagles fought back to take a 28-23 lead at halftime.
Federal Way was led by the 20 points of senior Raven Benton and also got 14 from Zaedrea Robinson and 10 from Kayla Smith.
Decatur — The Gators (0-12 overall, 0-3 SPSL 3A) remained winless on the season with a 55-12 loss to Bonney Lake Tuesday. Decatur fell behind 19-5 after the first quarter and scored only two points in the second half. Melissa Garcia led the way with six points.
