Harlem Wizards will play basketball game at Beamer to benefit school’s booster club

• The Harlem Wizards, a basketball show team, will play a game at 7 p.m. April 27 at Todd Beamer High School. The Wizards will take on a team made up of the Baden Ballers and local school teachers.

The cost for the game is $12 for adults and $10 in advance for students. Student tickets will cost $12 on the day of the game.

The game will benefit the Todd Beamer High School booster club.

Since 1962, the Harlem Wizards have played over 6,000 games in both the United States and abroad. The Harlem Wizards’ current winning streak exceeds 2,800 games, and each event at which the Wizards perform offers a rare combination of individual athleticism, teamwork, entertainment and community involvement, according to www.harlemwizards.com.

• Western Washington University senior Ashley Osman, a Thomas Jefferson High School graduate, tied school records in four categories during a 14-1 win over Saint Martin’s University last week.

Osman, a first baseman on the WWU softball team, hit two home runs, had four hits, five RBIs and four runs scored during the win. Osman is hitting .311 with a team-leading five home runs and 28 RBIs.

Western is currently 19-17 overall and 4-4 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
