The Federal Way Eagles completed a perfect South Puget Sound League North Division season Friday night with another dominating performance. The Eagles rolled over cross-district rival Thomas Jefferson at Federal Way Memorial Stadium, 42-22.
Federal Way (7-0, 8-1) jumped all over the Raiders (1-6, 1-8) during the first half, scoring the first six touchdowns of the game to take a 42-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The big lead allowed Eagle coach John Meagher to rest most of his starters during the second half.
Senior quarterback Justin Southern continued his strong season for the Eagles by accounting for five more touchdowns. Southern hit senior receiver Aaron Broussard for a 53-yard score, scored on a 1-yard run and then hit Greylin James with a 22-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
Southern added his third touchdown pass of the game early in the second quarter when he hit Jordan Larson from 8 yards out. Southern added a 17-yard touchdown run to make it 35-0. Junior tailback Andre Barrington ended the first-half scoring barrage with a 65-yard touchdown run to make it 42-0.
Jefferson got two third-quarter touchdowns from senior Bryant Cameron. Cameron ran back an interception 48 yards and caught a 21-yard touchdown pass. Trenton Pinson added a 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to finalize the score at 42-22.
