Punt, Pass and Kick: Two local girls will compete in regionals, attend Seahawks game
A pair of Federal Way girls have earned a trip to a Seattle Seahawks game after impressive performances in the NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick competition.
Hailey Still and Kyleigh Carbon will compete next at the Seattle Seahawks Team Championships on Dec. 8 at the Virginia Mason Athletic Complex, the Seahawks’ training facility.
Still, who attends Meredith Hills Elementary School, finished in first place in the girls 10-11 bracket at the Sectional Punt, Pass and Kick competition, which was held at West Seattle Stadium last month.
Still’s score was good enough to qualify for the Team Championships. In the Punt, Pass and Kick competition, the top-four finishers in each age bracket from the Pacific Northwest Region advance to the Team Championships. The Pacific Northwest region includes Washington, Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Still had the best score in the region.
Carbon finished up in first place at the Sectional Competition at West Seattle Stadium in the girls 14-15 bracket. She had the second-best score in the region to qualify for the Team Championships. Carbon is a freshman at Thomas Jefferson High School.
Both Still and Carbon have also been invited to watch the Seattle Seahawks play the Arizona Cardinals on Dec. 9 at CenturyLink Field.
In total, all 32 NFL teams host Team Championships in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition. The top-four scores from each age bracket from the 32 championships move on to the National Punt, Pass and Kick Championships. Those will be held at an undetermined NFL playoff game before the Super Bowl.
