Auburn beats Federal Way 4-1, Auburn Riverside blanks Curtis 5-0 | Prep girls tennis

The Auburn girls tennis program notched a 4-1 win over South Puget Sound League Central 4A opponent Federal Way this past Thursday.
The Trojans were led by Lauren Thornquist who defeated marie Carmelo, 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match.
Auburn's Nacole Schwoch beat Nina Longman, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles contest.
In doubles, Aly Siemion and Gabby Lane were victorious at No. 2 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Federal Way's Mina Park and Sarah Shimer.
At No. 3 doubles, Trojans Maddy Johnson and Amber Valenzuela beat Rozelle Schwart and Tess Gabert 6-2, 7-6.
Auburn's only loss came in the No. 1 doubles with Karen Wentzke and Sydney Johnson falling, 6-3, 7-5 to Lauren Lang and Malia Saboe.
ALSO: Auburn Riverside defeated Curtis 5-0 on Thursday in a SPSL Central 4A meet. Singles players Natalie Jones (6-3, 6-3) and Brianna Bruil (4-6, 6-1, 10-3) earned wins, as did the doubles teams of Jessica Lancaster/Sara Suznevich (6-4, 6-2), Jocelyn Patterson/Jillian Stanphill (6-2, 6-1) and Alex Nieman/Carson Heilborn (6-3, 6-1).
