The Federal Way Football Club under-12 Miyahara Strikers girls soccer team has advanced to the state level of the 2011 Recreational Cup after a win last weekend at the district level.

Throughout this year’s Rec Cup, the Strikers were 3-0-1. The District III finals, held at Federal Way Memorial Stadium on Nov. 19, was a close game between the Strikers and the Fife-Milton-Edgewood Renegades and ended in a tie after regulation and two overtime sessions, resulting in a penalty-kick shootout. During the shootout, the Strikers outscored the Renegades, 3-1, to get the win.

The State Recreational Cup quarterfinals will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 4 at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

The team includes Elise Adkisson, Deniese Baker, Larissa Caldera, Olivia Chong, Madi Combs, Isabelle Hall, Katlyne Hewlett, Tori Johnson, Michelle Kim, Morgan Kreckman, Bryn Mader, Ange Menchu-Lopez, Marissa Miyahara, Jillian Ory, Crystal Rivera, Hannah Togia, Sydney Victor and Hannah Wolf.

The team is coached by Robert Miyahara, Sydney Miyahara and Jordan Miyahara.
