The Federal Way National Heat won the District 10 Little League Tournament of Champions last weekend in Auburn.

The Federal Way National Heat recently won the District 10 Little League Softball Tournament of Champions.

The championship game was held at GSA Park in Auburn and featured an extra-inning thriller between the Heat and the Kent Crush.

The Heat were driven by solid defense, clutch hitting and great pitching. This is the second straight year the Heat have won the tournament. The Heat finished 2011 with a perfect 19-0 record.

The team included Alex Haven, Tina Carterman, Sam Simundson, Amanda Henderson, Emily Blake, Taytum Blakte, Grace Sunitsch, Sophie Afework, Gennie Summers, Tricia Hultman, Isabelle McLarty and Alexis Smithwick. The coaching staff included Romi Afework, Gary Haven and Tom Magruder.
