From staff reports:

Federal Way's “Mosquito Squad,” a 14U girls Fast Pitch team, participated in the USSSA World Series, in Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The July tournament featured over 100 teams from all over the country.

After losing a tiebreaking extra-inning game that would have placed the team in the top ten, the Mosquito Squad finished 13th in their division.

The coach Mark Lewis stated he was very proud of the girls and how they ended a very successful season with hard fought victories in a national tournament.

The Mosquito Squad places teams in 18-, 16-, 14- and 12-year-old age groups. All the seniors are going on to play on college fastpitch programs, a goal that the organization is proud to announce.

The 14U team players are Rocky Hale, Brenna Tsujikawa, Sami Sunitsch, Kendra Tsujikawa, Crystal Knight, Kate Lewis, Kimberly Klock, Meghan Lindgren, Tess Dixon.
