Perspectives on homophobia | Federal Way letters
July 20, 2010 · Updated 1:28 PM
Regarding Saturday's letters (July 17) responding to T.J. Brown's display of his homophobia: Let's not lose perspective.
Jenna Carodiskey-Wiebe says that Brown's letter is "proof that we need to...spend (more) money on diversity awareness issues." Spend tax dollars on more public education based on one person's expression of his ignorance?
Let's try to keep a single letter in perspective. We don't need some bureaucrat with available budget deciding this is an opportunity to commit our tax money to a problem we're only sure that T.J. Brown has, especially in this economy.
Besides, I suspect all the education in the world would have no effect on an attitude as entrenched as T.J. Brown's appears to be.
