We have an opportunity before us to finally begin the construction of a long sought-after performing arts center.

It has been the dream of many civic-minded citizens and supporters of arts groups in Federal Way. In a city approaching a population of 90,000 people, we still do not have a venue where local groups can perform; students can stage events; business groups can have seminars and conventions; varied lectures and performances can be staged. The cities of Sumner, Auburn, Renton and Fife all have invested in this kind of facility, but not Federal Way. What’s the matter with us?

The performing arts and cultural center financial plan looks good, interest rates are very low, construction costs are way down, property values are down and people need jobs. This is the time.

Please have the vision and courage to build our young city into an exemplary model of good future planning. Support the performing arts center!
