Response to Amy Johnson's abortion column

I, too, must speak to the article written by Amy Johnson about the blessings of abortion. I have witnessed firsthand and heard from the lips of women themselves what takes place after their abortions. In fact, more and more women (and their families) are suffering, realizing that they have made a huge mistake and havenÕt been told the truth.

I was once approached by a young woman while standing across the street from an abortion clinic. She was clearly distraught and looked me directly in the eye. She told me that she had seen her twin babies after they were aborted. She said, "No one told me they were babies! No one told me they were alive!"

Women have not been told about the suffering that is to come or that they could suffer serious health issues after a surgical or pill induced abortion, including damage to their reproductive organs, a higher risk of contracting breast cancer, the inability to have another child, or intense grief with emotional and psychological issues that last for many years - perhaps the rest of their life. They have not been told that a brand new person lives inside of them and that abortion kills their unborn child. It is too late once they feel the excruciating pain and realize that their very own son or daughter is gone, who once grew inside.

The Dec. 4 issue of U.S. News and World Report last year stated that the United States has a serious shortage of babies and that the severely reduced birth rate will drastically effect the economy, creating a shortage of workers, consumers, and producers, which will lower the future living standards for almost everyone (such as China, Europe and other countries are now facing). Adoption.com states that there are one million couples in the U.S. attempting to have children who cannot. And there are at least 100,000 childless couples waiting to adopt babies. There are not enough infants to go around.

Men and women are afraid. They try to believe what they have been told by people who promote condoms and abortions as if they are balloons or cotton candy at a fair. They attempt to listen to those who want them to abort and try hard to believe that abortion is a valid alternative to life. They do not realize that they have been duped, but that they do have a REAL choice, the choice of LIFE, and that people are ready to instantly help. Women and families must know that they can call pregnancy help lines such as 800-712-HELP to receive the love, support (often including financial), supplies and/or the adoptive parents they might need.

Women of all ages can keep their babies. Those who feel unable to keep their children can allow others the joy of raising them. Families can pursue their dreams and the worldwide economically threatening baby shortage can stop, as well as the long and short term terrifying effects of abortion. We can help. We can tell them and welcome these little ones into our lives, families, communities, and open hearts.

For information and many resources, call the number above or Google your local pro-life support clinic. Federal way has one.
