I want to let people know to watch out for their pets. At the absolute worst, we have a cowardly sick individual who is trapping animals or at least we have an aggressive animal in the neighborhood.

I live on 316th behind the old bus barn. On Feb. 15 a stray cat that I had been feeding came back with a severed paw and what looked like a hole in his head. The cut was diagonal on his right paw.

I brought him in, fed him and cleaned him up. Getting up to take him to be looked at the next morning, he had already passed in the night. On Feb. 18 my cat came home with a mangled right paw and I got him treated right away but still lost him. I filed a report with animal services but, because I did not get proof or pictures of the severed paw of the other cat, I have no pattern or history.

Regardless, I cannot accept animal cruelty and feel the need to warn others so that they do not go through the same pain.

Please report any problems or issues that you see.

Karen Bitz, Federal Way
