Burbidge is a strong advocate for the city | Election letters

I am an over 30-year resident of Federal Way and I strongly support Jeanne Burbidge for re-election to the Federal Way City Council.

My major reasons are that she is knowledgeable, hardworking, dedicated, experienced, visionary, passionate and caring. As any effective leader must do, she studies the issues from many sides, seeks input, listens carefully and acts with integrity. In my view, the council needs a range and a balance of demonstrated experiences, recognized expertise and productive longevity.

At this time as the city progresses to its next exciting stage of development, the City of Federal Way needs a representative who can look at the big picture. She has an outstanding record of accomplishments that have enhanced the economic, social and cultural growth and development of the City of Federal Way. Along with her historical perspective and her record of doing the right thing, not always the most popular thing, makes her too valuable not to re-elect.

She has the expertise and recognition as a leader on regional transportation issues. Transportation is a major issue facing our city and region. We cannot afford to lose that voice as we work to make needed changes locally, regionally and statewide.

Jeanne Burbidge is able to work calmly as a team member on the complex issues of the city. She works to make Federal Way a city with good paying jobs, safe for families to enjoy a high quality of life, and supports developing a strong and vibrant downtown core.

She regularly attends community events, meetings, and makes visits around the city. She remains up to date and is in contact with the people.

She is known locally, statewide and regionally as an elected representative who is experienced, who listens, acts with integrity, remains steady and calm, works hard to solve problems effectively and efficiently on behalf of all the citizens of Federal Way.

Jeanne Burbidge is a strong advocate for a city where we enjoy a high quality of living — let us re-elect her.

Mildred W. Ollee, Federal Way
