Letters to the Editor

Skip is the best choice for our mayor | Election letters

Skip Priest has been a tremendous community leader and an asset to Federal Way for over 20 years. There is a lengthy list of local organizations with whom he has worked. He even helped me find a local spot where my Girl Scout troop could practice outdoor skills. Many of you, I know, could add to the list of his personal community support.

Skip represented Federal Way in the state Legislature for six years where he authored legislation for education funding and reform and against auto theft and sex predation.

He is also a businessman with a good grasp of working within a budget. Despite the difficult economy, he kept Federal Way in the black. We are not over-budget as many other local cities are now. He did this through his own efforts and without hiring a city administrator, which his opponent has indicated he would do, which would force our city budget into the red.

Federal Way needs a mayor who works for the community and has proven skills. Please join me in re-electing Skip Priest as our mayor.

Margaret Nelson, Federal Way
