Kelly Maloney won the candidate debate | Election letters

After attending the candidate debate last week, I am excited to continue my support of Kelly Maloney for Federal Way City Council Position 2.

Kelly won the debate because of her common sense and proactive approach to helping Federal Way become prosperous. She is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Kelly answered the questions with an intelligent and refreshing approach. Her answers are based on firsthand experience from years of hard work and dedication in the Federal Way community.

Kelly articulated short-term and long-term strategies that are backed up by research, an in-depth plan of action, and her commitment to continue to work to make them happen.

Kelly's opponent only stated that he supports bringing businesses to Federal Way. Who doesn't? It seems he has not done anything to make this happen as he didn't articulate a plan of action, or convince me that he has the experience to make a real and positive impact in our community.

Kelly has already been working for many, many years to bring businesses to Federal Way. Her work has already had a significant impact on the city's future, and she is continuing to work on initiatives and projects that will make a huge difference for the city.

Kelly is also using her experience in branding to change our city's image. This is something that is needed so much. It hurts to think about how negatively we are perceived. Kelly knows how to turn that around. I can't gamble our city's future on Mark Koppang. He doesn't have a clear plan, or enough experience in what we need to see our city grow and prosper.

I care about our city, our children's futures, and how we grow. After all, this is my hometown, and I want it to be the best it can be.

Kelly Maloney for city council position 2 is the only way to get us there.

Jenifer Harpster, Federal Way
