Letters to the Editor

Priest is the best person to lead the city | Election letters

I’m writing a letter to support Mayor Skip Priest.

He is one of the most dedicated, hardworking public officials in our great city. Skip was able to manage Federal Way beautifully during the economic crisis when other cities were scrambling to survive. He is decisive, fair and intelligent.

He’s not afraid to make necessary tough decisions that serve taxpayers, such as scaling down staff and directors, and renegotiating city employee benefits. It’s not easy managing a large population like Federal Way, but fortunately, he knows how to navigate city, county and state laws and is quick to act on our behalf. He also leverages volunteer and non-profit agencies to help serve those in need.

I always support leaders who have vision and the guts to take action. I never support candidates who criticize decision-makers, but don’t have ideas or experience of their own. Skip Priest is the best person to continue leading our city. He is hardworking, kind, and a man of integrity.

Teri Hickel, Federal Way
