The pair of Cs in PACC | Letters

Daniel Angeles, whose letter appeared Oct. 4, needs to do more research if he considers the New York City opera the top opera company in either New York or the country.

The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Houston Grand Opera and yes, even Seattle Opera do more performances than the now bankrupt New York City Opera.

Another thought about the Performing Arts and Conference Center (PACC). The pair of Cs in the abbreviation are for "conference center."

That means a place where a large number of people can gather. If we had such a place in 1989, Federal Way would not have had to hold its incorporation party at Sports World, which was outside the city limits on Pacific Highway in unincorporated King County.

H. David Kaplan, Federal Way
