Letters to the Editor

Vote for John Fairbanks and vote for change | Election letters

Thinking about the nearing council election, I have a few observations.

We need new people with fresh ideas and an eye to the future — somebody willing to listen to the citizens at large, not just go with the rest of the council, and can think on their own for what's best for the city.

We need to replace a person that has been there riding the wave since 1998, who all but broke her arm patting herself on the back in 2008 voting for light rail, which is still costing the city and getting nothing in return but promises of shovel ready some time in the far, far future.

We also don't need somebody working to help get money to build the Performing Arts and Conference Center (PACC) in secret — and not willing to do that in the open without the citizens at large getting to vote on said project.

What we do need is John Fairbanks in city council position 4.

It is time Jeanne Burbidge goes out to pasture.

John owns his own business and is willing to listen to people, not just with an eye on what they can do for him.

He listens, he is willing to discuss, and his heart is with this city. And that you can take to the bank. John Fairbanks that is.

We need change. Please vote for John Fairbanks city council position 4.
