Letters to the Editor

Kelly Maloney will make a difference for safety | Letters

I write today to publicly endorse Councilmember Kelly Maloney and to ask other Federal Way citizens to vote for her in the upcoming primary election and again in the general election.

Kelly is a strong advocate for public safety and has fresh new ideas to bring economic growth to our community that would positively impact all that live, work and play here.

As a current and new city council person, Kelly has been working to add police officers for greater public safety. This means trying to find a way to pay for it. Why? Because she believes it is important for the community, as do most of us.

Kelly is also working on changing the processes that victims in abusive relationships, or of stalking, have to go through. She sees many problems with restraining orders and how they are applied. These issues can be tied to those of human trafficking - a very serious problem that is here in our own backyard, but one that is being addressed by our fine police department and the dedicated men and women that serve our community.

Public safety affects all of us, and Kelly Maloney is the person who is working to make a difference for our safety.

Brian Ailinger, Federal Way
