I read staff wrier Erica Hall’s story in The Mirror Feb. 11 (“Law may collar pit bulls”). In my 75 years of experience with dogs, I have never heard of a Labrador retriever killing a small animal or mauling a person without reason.

Regardless of what Leslie (last name withheld in the story) at Crestwood Animal Hospital says, they are not normally aggressive as pit bulls are.

My worst experience with retrievers was when a new mother with puppies growled and nipped when the puppies were threatened.

I strongly support city regulation of pit bulls.
