Too much political correctness is simply wrong

Now wait just a doggone minute, Judge Morgan. Just why do you think we should have multi-lingual forms for Federal Way? (Forum, Jan. 11, “Making Municipal Court a more multi-lingual place”).

When people move to the United States from other countries, they should be prepared to learn our language, just like we would have to learn theirs if we moved to their country. They should also have to learn to read and write in our language, in order to become American citizens. For too long, we have cowed down to people from other countries who think we should answer to their needs and forget about what we stand for.

I think most Americans believe if you live here, then you need to learn our culture and traditions, as well as learning to speak our language.

I don’t believe we should spend the thousands of dollars it will take to have these forms printed. Our city of Federal Way is in enough trouble financially, and we don’t need to add to it just to satisfy a few citizens who seem to think they are the only ones living here.

Judge Morgan, just stop trying to be “politically correct.”
