Animal Control is out of control

The person who commented in Jan. 14’s Mirror (“Door-to-door enforcing of pet licensing is invasion of privacy”) on this ongoing illegal search that King County Animal Control is maddeningly being allowed to continue was spot on. The random and warrantless search of anyone’s home is in violation of both state and federal constitutions. Police don’t have this right; what gives Animal Control the idea that they’re above the law?

I would like to know why I have not heard one official from any municipality speak out against this blatant violation of law and disregard for civil rights. Since our elected officials seem complicit in allowing this action, we as citizens are apparently being left to protect our own rights. I already chased these lawbreakers out of my neighborhood once, and I will protect it again if necessary. I encourage others to exercise and protect their rights in the same way, until someone whose official job that is becomes interested enough to put a stop to this nonsense once and for all.
