As a concerned parent and member of the community, I ask all citizens who are able to make a contribution to the monetary fund for the recent rape victims to do so.

I spoke with Federal Way Police deputy chief Brian Wilson and was assured that 100 percent of the money contributed to this fund for the two young victims will go toward their care, counseling and future educational needs.

This crime was heinous, and we all have the opportunity to demonstrate our concern and love to these courageous victims, who, along with their mother, escaped and called police. The Federal Way Police are to be highly commended for their work in catching the suspect.

Now it is our turn to thank the victims and to demonstrate we want nothing but the best for each of them and we are glad they are living here in our community. Together, we can do something to make the future a bit brighter.

Checks should be made out to the Federal Way Family Assistance Fund and mailed to Federal Way Police Department, 34008 Eighth Ave S., Federal Way, WA 98063.
