Letters to the Editor

Coaches are our inspiration

To our former Federal Way High School cross country coaches, Daryl Genest and Jean Licari: Thank you for being such an inportant part of our lives. There is no way we would be where we are as runners without you. Having you as coaches has given us an inspiration that we wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else.

Our first season in cross country was an absolute blast, along with a very memorable experience. From having you as coaches, we experienced true love for the sport. You taught us to reach within ourselves and have brought out the best.

We truly miss being a part of your team, yet we will always look up to you as our coaches. You instilled us with the heart of an Eagle, and that will never change.

Next, we would like to thank our new coaches, Scott Haines and Forrest Griek, at Todd Beamer High. Leaving our Federal Way coaches was very hard and we were unsure of what this year would be like. But after spending almost four months running with you and getting to know you, our doubts have completely disapeared. We have the utmost respect for you and trust how you run the team.

So, thank you, coach Licari. We love you to death and we’ll always be one of your E-Gals. Thank you, coach Genest. You taught us that the sky’s the limit. Thank you, coach Haines. You’ve always had faith in us and that’s pushed us even harder. And finally, thank you, coach Griek, for keeping us smiling and pushing us to the top.

We love you all.
