On behalf of the FUSION Board of Directors, we would like to thank the Mirror, all of the generous corporate sponsors and in-kind donors, as well as the many FUSION donors who supported the FUSION benefit, “Fiesta Del Sol,” held on Aug. 6 at the Dumas Bay Centre.

This year’s event realized a net profit of $40,000 with a sell-out crowd, great food, a vast array of fine art for sale, a silent auction, pinata raffle and wonderful entertainment. None of this could have happened without the countless hours given by the many FUSION volunteers and community supporters.

The funds raised will enable our all-volunteer organization to continue to provide transitional housing and support services for homeless women and their children in our community. We have eight housing units in operation and we will be opening a ninth unit in October 2003.

The “fusion” of community resources and volunteer efforts is a testament to the power of partnerships. As we collaborate, we effectively address the plight of homelessness. We are fortunate to have your support and we appreciate the contributions made to our program. Thank you for helping us to make a difference as we enable families to become self-sufficient.
