Schools, actor are bad partnership

I see our Federal Way Public Schools is one of the sponsors for actor Danny Glover and his “It’s Time to Really Talk Tour.”

Some of Mr. Glover’s claim to fame includes the following: He called the president of the United States a racist. He blamed American policy for the murderous acts of Sept. 11. He signed a petition comparing American soldiers in the Gulf War to 9-11 terrorists. He called America “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world.” And most recently, Mr. Glover signed a letter of support for Fidel Castro.

Though he, like us all, has a right to his opinion, is this the person we want our schools associated with?

While I’m sure these views fall in line with the thoughts of many of our public school teachers and administrators, they are not backed by a majority of our population and are views we taxpayers don’t want embraced by our school system, let alone sponsored by them.
