Put them back where they came from

The state Department of Social and Health Services has identified Peasley Canyon as one of three final sites for locating a Level 3 sex offender community transition house. A Level 3 sex offender is a person who has committed violent sexual crimes, has been convicted and served prison time. These people are highly likely to reoffend.

The Peasley Canyon site is located between SeaTac Mall, the Auburn SuperMall and the Six Flags Enchanted Parks site in Federal Way. The sex offenders would have ready access to the children in the immediate housing area, ready access to the local children at the two malls and ready access to children from the entire state at Enchanted Parks. A child might not be missed for some time, if they are abducted at the Six Flags area. Selection of the Peasley Canyon site is a very bad decision.

We suggest another way: House the offenders in the community of origin. Preference is to place that person into a studio apartment with video cameras and home detention. That way, no one area will be overburdened with such a high number of sex offenders in their community.
