I would like to take this opportunity to commend Federal Way School Board on its selection of Todd Beamer as a name for the new high school.

Mr Beamer was a hero in the true sense of the word. He knew that he was about to die and was determined not to die in vain. Mr Beamer, and others, aboard Flight 93 decided to take matters in their own hands, and by their actions saved Washington, D.C. from untold damage that would have been caused.

Todd Beamer is a hero that today’s students can relate to and emulate. He is here and now and his now-famous words, “Let’s roll,” can be echoed by the students of the school named in his honor. In my mind, no better name could have been chosen. Congratulations!
