Enough about logos; move on

I will personally miss our current city logo and the $90,000 the new one has cost us. However, I think we as a community have more important issues confronting us, and it is time to move on.

Logos and slogans may reflect positive images, but what we are learning from the business community, where they are prevalent, is that they do not always define a company’s future nor reflect their integrity or reputation.

Federal Way’s future lies in what it creates as its reputation. If we strive for and become a city where its citizens feel safe to walk its streets and like living here because of what the community offers, and if business feels the same, we will become a strong community. It is time for all of us to forget about logos and slogans and get on to the work of creating our reputation.
