America's response to terrorism justified
I am writing in regards to the current situation our nation is facing with the war on terrorism. As a Federal Way High School senior, these events have drastically impacted my life, and I feel the government needs to continue to enforce its foreign and domestic policies.
It is time we take a stand and not allow our lives to be governed by fear. America needs to spend more time trying to establish a message to the world. So far, our nation has sent this message: That although we feared the events of Sept 11, we did not scatter like chickens. The fear brought us closer together as a nation and made us unite as one. ... One nation under God, with Liberty and Justice for all.
Many people argue that President Bush and the rest of our national government are enforcing this war a little too much, and that they are walking a thin line; one slip and the whole world could end in nuclear war. At my school, I hear many students talking about how our nation has become the bad guy. However, as a patriot to my country, I feel it is in our nations best interest that we continue to make our presence known and that we will not tolerate terrorism.
America needs to stop dismissing these threats and take them seriously. If the child puts his hand in the cookie jar, he will get punished. Sept. 11 was just the first attempt to steal a cookie. It is time that the terrorists face the consequences for their actions.
