Neighborhood getting pushed around, readers say

Open letter to the City Council members of Federal Way, re: Oxford House.

We are writing to tell you the distress we feel from our elected representatives in our neighborhood and city. We have lived in Federal Way for over 13 years and chose our neighborhood because of the location and covenants. We thought at the time covenants were worth the paper that they were written on.

Now we are overridden by the federal government, as well as Tacoma folks who tell us they can do whatever they want, with the approval of our council.

At the next election, I certainly hope that none of you will come calling in our neighborhoods for support. I am sure that many other neighborhoods with covenants will feel similar to ours.

Our other question is, why are these folks considered disabled when this was self-inflicted?
