As leaders of the Reach Out shelter programs here in Federal Way, we wish to thank Pastor Jo Lembo for a fine presentation on human trafficking at our general information meeting last week.

Jo did a wonderful job, in the short-allotted time, to tell us what we can safely do to free victims. Learn more at www.warn-trafficking.org.

We are truly grateful to the hosts of the meeting, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. St. Luke’s is among a group of 26 churches that financially contribute and/or provide meal services to our homeless clients. St. Luke’s also provides clean blankets during our winter shelter season.

We continue to be grateful to our host churches Calvary Lutheran, Steel Lake Presbyterian and Our Savior’s Baptist and New Hope (screening and counseling location) who are anchor churches for the programs.

We look forward to serving both single men and women for five months again next winter, but it will take the help of the broader community, supporting our fund drives, to make it happen.

On March 25, we will hold a second annual Rollermania event where families, friends, businesses, schools, service clubs, church groups or any combinations of the above come together for fun and to raise money for needed services for next winter.

To learn more about Rollermania, continue to check our website frequently as updates will be posted as available: www.reachoutfederalway.org.

Also, our annual breakfast is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2013. Please save the date. Thank you, Federal Way, for your ongoing generous support.
