"Sweet innocence"

Sandy Hook,

Bathed in an ocean of tears,

Senseless termination of precious life,

Lost in a spirit of fears;

An evil act,

A godless action of hate,

Sacrificed in a river of blood,

Sealing sweet innocence fate;

A tragic ending,

Joy transformed to terrible loss,

Hearts bleeding in inconsolable pain,

Why did they have to pay the cost?

We open our hearts,

And our minds of care,

A prayer offering,

Our love, in your loss, is there;

Embraced in our thoughts,

Surrounded in our love,

May God Bless and Keep You,

With His comfort from above;

Words cannot express

What our feelings can say,

For we all look for hope

And solace in a new day.
