Are Federal Way's cameras for revenue or safety? | Letters

December 22, 2012 · Updated 11:40 AM

I traveled westbound on (312th) Street and crossed Pacific Highway South. I entered the intersection at the time the light changed to yellow.

Before I left the intersection, the light turned red. On my return trip, I pulled over to determine as best I could the timing between the yellow to red transition.

At best it was 2 seconds. Less than 3 seconds. I will not receive a ticket, but I am alarmed that the camera system is used for revenue and not safety.
