Fire engine and two ambulances: Is this overkill? | Letters

November 8, 2012 · 9:51 AM

I have a question. It has probably been asked hundreds of times and you have answered it that many times, too. But I would still like to know.

Last week, my neighbor needed to call 911. What showed up at the house? A fire engine and two ambulances. A couple of years ago, I was attacked by some bees. I passed out. My wife called 911. What showed up at the house? A fire engine and two ambulances. I have seen other instances like it in the neighborhood. This seems like overkill.

Does it really take three vehicles to transport one person to the emergency room?
