I recently attended a wonderful Federal Way event called the Northwest Sand Festival. It was amazing. I have never seen anything like it. The sand sculptures were fabulous — a really great, unique, family outing. The weather was perfect.

I saw several different mentions of the festival on television news broadcasts. I also saw television commercials. My impression, however, is that this event was not well attended.

As a community we need to support these interesting offerings that take place in our own backyard. We go to Seattle, we go to Tacoma for entertainment. Let's also take advantage of what is local. I hope we get the opportunity to attend this festival in the future.
