(RE: “Photo tickets: Shame on reckless drivers,” Letters):

You may be very tired of reading from the poor people who have to pay a fine because they are speeding in school zones or hitting a red light, but what about those of us who were cited in a school zone when we weren’t driving, when it was a snow day, when it was on a weekend, when school wasn’t in session due to parent/teacher conferences, etc?

Despite what you think, you have no monopoly on the truth.

I can document all of the above and have presented evidence to the police chief and court. Both Chief Wilson and the court have considered my perspective and have never contradicted my evidence.

Reckless driving and behavior? I will compare my spotless driving record against yours any day. I, too, drove in Europe for many years.

Those who speed in a school zone or run red lights deserve a citation, but make sure the ATS system works properly. It hasn’t in the past.

Anyone who thinks they know all the facts in each situation is an ignorant boob.
