Abe Lincoln would want transparency | Federal Way letters

After reading Bob Roegner’s article “City appointments flunk transparency test,” I can’t believe that his questions were ignored. He is after all a respected independent columnist and a previous mayor. Cheers to Bob and yes, I agree that the city flunked the transparency test as well. When I read his article, several random thoughts arose from my noggin. One of them was the Gettysburg Address:

“That this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the Earth.”

I hope when any citizen in this city asks for information, an answer will be provided without a “civil war” or “stone wall,” and our “strong mayor” system of government will strive to a new birth of freedom for this city (council members are included as well). In the spirit of President Abraham Lincoln, I hope the people’s voices or questions shall not perish in Federal Way.
