I am writing to urge all voters to vote for Tony Moore for state Senator in the 30th District.

First, Tony Moore is a small business owner who knows how to cut costs and streamline expenses to remain competitive in a difficult economic environment. He will take the same approach with him to Olympia in dealing with the state's budget crisis. Under Senator Tracey Eide's leadership, the state budget has increased by more than 50 percent since 2004. She lacks the pragmatic mentality to be fiscally responsible especially during tough times when we asked her to cut back on our spending. She just has not listened to the voters to stop growing government.

Secondly, Tony Moore would prioritize spending while still providing necessary services. On Oct. 4, Senator Eide indicated that health care is the fastest growing item in the state budget and when it comes to the elderly, "we need to provide for them." Don't federal programs like Medicare and Medicaid already provide for the elderly? Eide shows she has not and will not reign in state spending.

Thirdly, and most disappointing, Eide lambasted Moore at the Oct. 4 candidates forum for being in favor of charter schools and school vouchers while serving as president of the Federal Way School Board. Tony Moore presented creative solutions for providing the best education to its students. Eide's remarks show she favors the teachers' jobs over our children's interest. She is content with pigeon-holingall students in a one-size-fits-all education system run by the state. It is ironic that Eide attacked Moore by saying he wants to take away a woman's right to choose, which is not a fight he is pushing, but when it comes to education, Eide wants to take away every parent's right to choose how best to educate his/her child.

I urge all voters to join me in voting for Tony Moore. It's time for a new face with new ideas representing us here in the 30th District; someone who will tackle the state's budget deficit crisis with some fiscally sound principles and listen to us. On Nov. 2, please vote for Tony Moore.
