Suggestions for road improvements | Federal Way letters
I grew up in Federal Way and currently reside there now. I have noticed the improvements to roads and intersections and center of the roadway. These improvements, I believe, were not thought out. For example: The center of the road has landscaping and needs constant maintenance or upkeep, and light poles are only 15 feet apart, which need light bulb replacements, electricity and constant maintenance, not to mention the hanging plants on every pole as well.
If the lights were placed 30 feet apart, you could have used more elsewhere for half the cost in general, and landscaping should have been bricks like in Auburn, where very little maintenance would be needed, thus cutting your entire cost in half.
These ideas should have been put out for voters' review or community input because we are the taxpayers of the city. It is real hard to watch taxes going toward not-thought-out ideas that waste money and could be used for great help in a community facing more tax hikes.
