Letters to the Editor

Murray vs. Rossi: The bashing continues | Federal Way letters

I always knew the State of Washington was a “blue state,” especially King County. After reading the letters to the editor in the Mirror (Sept. 1), it all came to light how people perceive those running for the U.S. Senate. It appears there are the left and there are the right. We have had a senator in the U.S. Senate for 18 years, and she has never voted in favor of her constituents, just her party. I didn’t know that being a senator was a career, but she seems to think it is her birth-given right to be a senator until the day she dies. At least this is the way her followers believe. So Patty Murray has several ads, in a one-hour time, bashing her opponent, and not telling the whole story about how Dino Rossi is getting his financial backing, accept from a secretive outfit, who might be funded by, of all people, Osama bin Laden and/or the “prince of Iran.” Now how silly is that?

Patty Murray has been bashing Dino Rossi since before he was even selected to run against her. I have a question for Ms. Murray: Where is her financial backing coming from that she can have so many ads on TV in primetime news programs, and Mr. Rossi can have a $750,000 ad that wouldn’t even pay for one of Ms. Murray’s ads? You do the math.

A question for Congressman Adam Smith: Why do you call yourself an independent, when in fact you have run as a Democrat since the first time you ran for Congress? These are all unanswered questions that need answers. Check out their voting in Washington, D.C., and how they voted across party lines, not what their constituents are wanting. It should not be which party is the best, but what do our representatives we send to Washington, D.C., and Olympia doing to make us a better society of citizens, who want what is best for our country, and most of all for our state. Something to think about between now and November.
