A story in the Federal Way Mirror on April 20 stated that the city of Federal Way has a $850,000 budget shortfall. The Federal Way City Council approved levying a 7.75 percent utility tax to gain extra revenue.

The city council also approved a pay raise for the mayor at 7.5 percent. The city also hired five new police officers.

We may need a new city treasurer.
