Regarding the article on the car tab fee: Has anyone asked the question why aren’t AirBnbs in Federal Way required to have a business license and why don’t they pay any taxes, such as a hotel tax similar to other rent by-the-night businesses (hotels/motels/inns)? One would think that, with the number of AirBnbs in operation in Federal Way, requiring them to pay fees and taxes like any other business would generate a sizable sum that could be used to pick up some of the shortage that our city leaders plan to use a $20 car-tab fee for.
