Marianne Montrose Gendron

Marianne Montrose Gendron, 67, died at her home in Coupeville on Sept. 27, 2006, following a long battle with cancer.

Marianne was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, receiving her certification as a registered nurse in 1960. She moved to Seattle, where she worked at Valley Medical Center in Renton.

She was married to Frank Montrose Jr. on Oct. 27, 1962, and the couple lived in Federal Way for 20 years.

In 1994, they moved to Coupeville, where she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing the piano and most of all, enjoyed her family and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2001. She was married to Ernest Gendron on June 19, 2004, in Coupeville.

Marianne is survived by her husband, Ernie; daughters and their husbands Michelle Jones (Jerome) of Spanaway, Marianne Rojas (Joe) of Federal Way, Pauline Ornburn (Mitch) of Coupeville and April Johnson (Brian) of Orting; and six grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother and by her parents.

Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church on Sept. 30. Rites of interment followed at Sunnyside Cemetery.
