Lisa Kay Evenson

Lisa Kay Evenson (Ryker) joined our Lord on April

17, 2012 after her 7 month battle with cancer. She was 47

years old.

Lisa’s strength and faith are an inspiration for us all. Lisa was born in Burien, WA on Dec. 2, 1964 to Park and Nancy Ryker. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Central Washington University where she met her husband Brad Evenson. They were married Oct., 8, 1988, and have three beautiful daughters, Jacqie (age 20), Jessica (age 18) and Breann (age 14).

Lisa was a beloved preschool and kindergarten teacher at Happy Hearts Christian Preschool from 1989 – 2012. Lisa’s passion in life was to spread joy and God’s love to all. Her greatest pleasure in life was to be a loving wife and to be the best mother to her children. She loved to open her home (and her cookies) to anyone who came to visit. Her loving smile and hugs made all feel welcome and part of the family, she would warm a room with her presence.

Lisa had a sweetness about her that was truly innocent; she always saw the good in people not because she overlooked the negative but because it never occurred to her that there was negative to see. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Park and Nancy Ryker, and her daughters Alexis and Cassi. Lisa is survived by her husband, Brad, her 3 daughters Jacqie, Jessica and Breann, her two sisters, Andrea Ryker and Amy Myers, her brother Jeff Thom, 7 nieces, 3 nephews and 1 grand niece.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the “Evenson Fund” at Woodstone Credit Union which will serve as a college fund for Lisa’s three daughters, Jacqie, Jessica and Breann Evenson.

Services will be held at St. Lukes Lutheran Church on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 5pm.
