Gregory Stephen Schultz

Longtime Federal Way resident Gregory Stephen Schultz died August 2. He was born in Seattle on August 14, 1956, grew up in Black Diamond and graduated from Enumclaw High School. He and his wife, Mary, made their home in Federal Way 30 years ago. He was a loving family man and an avid outdoors man who was fond of kayaking, salmon fishing, dirt bike riding and cross-country hiking. He recently retired after 24 years as Director of Construction with Quadrant Homes. In his years at Quadrant, he was passionate about improving the culture of health and safety. He also was founder of the company’s Superintendent’s University. Greg is survived by Mary Ellen, his wife of 30 years; his children, Lucas Wayne Schultz, Ashley Porter Schultz, Ken Rappe (Gina), and Rachael Rappe; granddaughters, Hailey and Taylor Rappe; his mother, Alta Vaughn, and stepfather, Marvin Vaughn; brothers, Scott Schultz (Jackie), Jeff Schultz, Justin Schultz (Molly) and Devin Schultz (Wendi); sister Linda Williams (Buzz); and numerous nieces and nephews. Greg was loved by all for his kindness, generosity and love for the simple beauty of life. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 10, from 3 to 6, at the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club.
