Clara T. Seibold died Aug. 4 at age 97 in Federal Way.

Born April 27, 1909, as Clara Bond Taylor, she was married to Dr. Herman Rudolph Seibold for 54 years and raised five children: John R. Seibold of Tulsa, Okla.; Robert W. Seibold of Santa Monica, Calif.; Jean Marie Brough of Federal Way; Edward A. Seibold of Elmore, Ala.; and Dr. James R. Seibold of Brighton, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1989. She is survived by her sister, Helen K. Taylor of Tulsa, all five of her children, five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

She had a career in medical research, was active in her church, worked for the blind and partially sighted, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an outstanding Scrabble player, and will be remembered as a loving, courageous woman.
