The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

Women felt frightened by supervisor: At 4:07 p.m. July 26 in the 33400 block of Eighth Avenue South, a woman called the police, explaining that her supervisor rushed into the building to discuss her work performance. She said he was carrying a laptop case and holding an unkown object, described as either a letter opener or shoe horn. Her description revealed there was no indication of him threatening her, but she insisted that she was frightened. It was also revealed that she was terminated.

Man demands police, gets arrested: At 12:29 a.m. July 26 in the 2100 block of South 320th Street, a male entered Denny’s and demanded that the employees call 911. He did not say why. Upon arrival, police realized that they were familiar with the man from previous contacts. He was extremely intoxicated and had a $500 warrant for drinking on a bus. The man was arrested and booked.

A man, a woman and a TV: At 10:32 p.m. July 25 in the 34700 block of Second Lane South, police were dispatched to a report of a possible physical domestic violence incident involving a male and female. The female could be heard screaming for the police in Spanish. Upon arrival, the male and female stated they were in an argument, but no physical violence happened. The female said during the argument she became angry and pushed a large TV off its stand and it bounced forward and struck her in the eye. The injury was minor.

Fast food, fast attack: At 9:42 p.m. July 25 in the 2200 block of South 320th Street, a male was assaulted outside of Wendy’s. The man was reluctant to provide information about his attacker, saying he knew the man who attacked him as he owed the attacker money. Although the male was bleeding from the left side of his head, he chose not to provide the police with any information and chose to not have his attacker arrested at the moment. The male was provided the officer’s business card in case he changes his mind.

Car thief gets away: At 6:52 p.m. July 25 on Interstate 5, an officer viewed a suspect driving a vehicle known to be stolen. Once getting on the interstate, the officer attempted to pull over the driver, but the suspect was able to escape through heavy traffic, driving at a high rate of speed. The suspect is not identified at this time.

Prank phone call: At 3:10 p.m. July 25 in the 2400 block of South 273rd Street, an officer responded to a report of a male saying his friend was shot and bleeding. Although the GPS showed the phone of the man who called near the listed address, the man insisted he was at the AMPM on 288th Street and Military Road South, although an AMPM does not exist on that road. Police extensively checked the AMPMs near the area the call was made, unsuccessful in finding the subject. It was concluded that this was a prank phone call.

Those documents are private: At 8:57 a.m. July 25 in the 32000 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, officers located numerous documents on the side of the road, included photocopies of birth certificates, Social Security cards and bank statements. Police collected the papers, but were unable to find contact information for those listed on the documents.

Hospital patient goes wild: At 10:39 a.m. July 24, in the 34500 block of Ninth Avenue South, a hospital patient was being discharged and began to yell inside her room. With a wound on her wrist, she began flinging blood at the staff, yelling to them that she has hepatitis and she hoped they all got hepatitis. It was also reported that she kicked a hospital medical technician and spit on security when they were removing her from the hospital. The patient left the hospital before the police arrived and was not located.

Same look, different crime: At 3:29 p.m. July 24 in the 28800 block of Military Road South, an officer was looking for a suspect for an assault charge. The officer located a man who matched the description of the suspect and ran his name through dispatch. Although it was not the suspect he was looking for, the male’s name returned with several Federal Way warrants. The male was taken into custody.

Bigger problem than a flat tire: At 8:48 a.m. July 23 in the 35400 block of 25th Avenue Southwest, a man reported his wheels and tires were missing from his car. There is no suspect and no witness to the event. The valued cost to replace the wheels is $1,200.

Surprise package left at store: At 4:37 p.m. July 23 in the 1200 block of South 320th Street, a container was left on the counter of a pharmacy when a man was making a purchase. When the container was opened by the employees, methamphetamine, brown heroin and black tar heroin were all discovered in the box. Police brought the box to the Federal Way Police Department, where it was weighed, tested and packaged for destruction.

A large item to steal: At 8:32 a.m. July 22 in the 30300 block of Pacific Highway South, an officer was called because of suspicious activity. Upon his arrival, he discovered a green Korea Times newspaper vending machine with damage to the coin deposit area. The officer went to Home & Home and was informed that machine was stolen from the store two days prior to its discovery. It is unknown how much money was stolen from the machine.

That’s not a toy: At 3:41 p.m. July 22 at the Steel Lake playground, an 8-year-old child was playing with two other children. He then pulled out a pocket knife, informing the other children not to mess with him and asking them if they were scared. The lifeguard was informed and they called the police. The mother of the child was contacted and said she was unaware of the knife and took it from her son upon finding out about it. Both child and mother were asked to leave the park for the day.

The missing briefcase: At 4:25 p.m. July 21 in the 33500 block of 18th Avenue South, a man called the police and said his briefcase was stolen from his home. He claims he left the case on his washing machine and fell asleep and the next day realized it was missing. The man denied misplacing the briefcase and suspected that his rear slider door could have been unlocked. The police report indicates the man was very cluttered and in disarray.

Barbecue ruined: At 12:41 a.m. July 21 in the 2000 block of South 327th Street, a family was about to have a barbecue before it was interrupted by a man arriving and demanding his children. The suspect’s children were reported to be inside the residence. The man was extremely intoxicated, and the mother was not comfortable releasing her children to the suspect. He was arrested and booked.

Homeless father missing: At 10:00 a.m. July 21 in the 32600 block of Military Road, a man called the police to report his father as a missing person. His father was reported as homeless and living in a van. He also had two warrants for his arrest. The last time the person spoke to his father was in March 2017. He was entered as a missing person.

The angry ex: At 4:23 p.m. July 20 in the 28800 block of 18th Avenue South, a female reported her ex-boyfriend had been following her around the city, leaving notes on her car. She also received an email from him on July 19, saying he wanted to hurt her in ways that will teach her a lesson about their breakup. Feeling threatened, she sought a protection order but was told by the court she needed a case number. She chose not to press charges at this time.

Animal abuse: At 7:41 p.m. July 20 in the 28000 block of 26th Avenue South, a first-degree animal cruelty offense was reported. The suspect was reported to have deliberately inflicted severe head trauma to a 4-month-old puppy.
