Rock damages car on freeway: At 4:58 a.m. on July 18 on northbound Interstate 5, a driver was traveling on the freeway when he saw a large rock fly toward his vehicle from an overpass just before exit 142B. The rock struck the vehicle’s hood and caused damage. The victim told police he did not see anyone on the overpass but was “certain teenagers or kids were on the overpass throwing bricks.”

Hospital patient threatens staff: At 12:32 p.m. on July 18 at 34515 9th Ave. S., a patient of St. Francis Hospital called staff, angry with the medical treatment he received at the hospital. During the call, he said he was going to go to the hospital with his “attorney and guns.” Police called the patient, who told them he was “merely upset” and didn’t intend to scare or cause harm to anyone. Police told him to respond to the hospital dispute accordingly.

Instruments stolen from music store: At 1:17 p.m. on July 18 at 32042 23rd Ave. S., a suspect wearing a black hoodie with a skull cap stole a violin and clarinet from the Music & Arts store. The suspect initially entered the store and tried to distract an employee. When the employee walked away to help another customer, the suspect grabbed the instruments from the wall and ran out the door.

Shoplifter found with meth: At 6:42 p.m. on July 18 at 1901 S. Commons, a suspect stole $90 worth of clothing from Macy’s. During a police search, officers found methamphetamine and a needle on the suspect. Along with his arrest for theft and drug possession, police arrested him on several outstanding warrants.

Sink thief caught after fleeing Home Depot: At 1:22 p.m. on July 19 at 1715 S. 352nd St., a man concealed and stole two sinks at Home Depot. The sinks were valued at $800 each. The man ran out of the store with the sinks, but police were able to find him and arrest him on a Lewis County warrant for organized retail theft.

Man overdoses at Home Depot: At 10:41 p.m. on July 19 at 1715 S. 352nd St., a man was involuntarily committed to St. Francis Hospital after an apparent drug overdose at Home Depot. He was unconscious when police and South King Fire and Rescue arrived. Home Depot employees told officers the man was with a woman who was found looking into vehicles in the parking lot. The woman appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and told police the victim was suffering from a lack of insulin. Police arrested the woman on multiple drug possession warrants and transported her to jail.

Customer tries to repair stolen firearm: At 3:17 p.m. on July 20 in the 1400 block of South 324th Street, Discount Guns called police on a customer who had brought in a firearm for repair. The firearm had scratched serial numbers. Police confirmed the gun was listed as stolen through a residential burglary from 2008. The customer provided a recorded statement in which he named the gun seller and provided contact information.

Victim of sex trafficking ‘runs away’: At 9:57 p.m. on July 21 in the 2500 block of South 316th Lane, a mother reported her daughter had run away. She told police she had recently regained custody of her daughter, who was previously a victim of sex trafficking. Her daughter was last seen wearing skinny jeans with many cuts in them, a black hoodie, a red elastic hair band and black-and-white-striped Adidas shoes.

Woman found passed out near bus stop: At 5:52 a.m. on July 21 in the 3100 block of Pacific Highway S., a woman was involuntarily committed after she was found unresponsive on the ground near a bus stop. She was near the roadway with her pants down. South King Fire and Rescue personnel were able to wake her up, but the woman couldn’t stand on her own and began to push people. Officers noted she could not speak clearly, smelled of alcohol and responded she “is not all right.”

Domestic violence fight between homeless couple: At 10:53 a.m. on July 21 in the intersection of South 288th Street and Interstate 5, a homeless woman was punched on the head and strangled by her homeless boyfriend. South King Fire and Rescue personnel treated the woman at the scene, but she later refused to cooperate with the investigation. Her boyfriend left before police arrived.

Man found masturbating in women’s bathroom: At 1:27 p.m. on July 21 in the 2000 block of South Commons, a man was arrested for indecent exposure. A woman told police she was surprised to learn there was a man in the women’s bathroom at her workplace. She contacted loss prevention employees who contacted police. An employee with loss prevention went into the bathroom and found the man laying on the floor with his pants to his ankles, masturbating.

Man’s window shot out: At 9:34 p.m. on July 22 in the 100 block of Southwest 301st Street, a resident reported his window had been shot at. Police found the bullet embedded in the blinds frame. The bullet appeared to be an “unknown type of caliber” which was flattened from the shot. It was booked into evidence.

Men caught ‘smoking drugs’ in public restroom stall: At 12:47 p.m. on July 22 at 1928 S. Commons, two people were caught “smoking drugs” in the same men’s handicapped bathroom stall in the food court at The Commons mall. One suspect was found to be in possession of a pipe, a collapsible baton and multiple knives. The other was found with a glass pipe, one knife and a large piece of tar heroin. Both were trespassed and arrested.

Child Protective Services discovers incest: At 2:32 p.m. on July 22 in the 3200 block of 27th Avenue Southwest, a Child Protective Services case worker discovered a juvenile brother and sister having sexual intercourse. There is no further information at this time.

Angry customer threatens employee with gun: At 1:45 p.m. on July 23 at 33216 Pacific Highway S., an employee at Evergreen Sales and Leasing reported an angry customer to police after he made threatening phone calls. The man wasn’t able to procure a loan and accused the employee of trying to scam him. The customer told the employee that he was going to come back to settle the situation with a pistol. The customer hung up and called back a few other times but hung up each time. The employee said he didn’t think the customer was serious but wanted the incident documented.
